Responsible for marketing, on behalf of the BC government, the Canadian Entitlement power derived from the Downstream Benefits of the Columbia River Treaty. This highly reliable product amounts to 1170 MW of capacity.

Holds all necessary trade permits including: export permits from the Canadian National Energy Board; export permits from the US Department of Energy; natural gas import and export permits from Canadian and US regulators.

Holds Power Marketing Authorization from the US Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC), enabling Powerex to buy and sell power anywhere in the US and to deliver power directly from BC to its US customers.

Authorized in the West as a participant in the California Independent System Operator (CAISO) and Power Pool of Alberta (PPA) markets.

Authorized in the East as a market participant in: the Mid-America Power Pool (MAPP); Ontario Independent Market Operator (IMO); Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Maryland (PJM) Interconnection; and the New York Independent System Operator (NYISO) markets.
