Powerex offers capacity services through the sale of call options and through customized mutual trades:

	Call Options - a volatile spot market or unpredictable weather can make energy trading a challenging business. Call options give our customers a hedge against future capacity constraints. They can be exercised with a pre-determined fixed strike price, or with an index-based price.
	Capacity Trade - different peak load times in various regions allow for capacity exchanges, to meet local demand. Powerex trades capacity on a daily or seasonal basis.

Natural Gas

Powerex is responsible for natural gas trade around the supply of gas for BC Hydro's gas generating units. Powerex buys the majority of its natural gas from producers in BC, with transactions taking place mainly at the WEI Station 2, AECO and Huntingdon/Sumas hubs.
